About Galaxy Army Navy
GalaxyArmyNavy.com is one of the first online army navy stores established in 1997. Interestingly enough, we actually registered the domain name in 1996 under GalaxyArmyandNavy.com - my father always wanted the AND, i preferred the shorter version (mind you, i was in 6th grade at the time). We sell tactical clothing, camo uniforms, military surplus, work apparel, boots and outdoor gear - things you would find at a traditional Army Navy Store & Tactical Shop.
Our business was founded as Main Mens Wear in 1951 Flushing New York on Roosevelt Ave and Main Street and later renamed Galaxy Army Navy in the early 1980's when my father bought it from the original owner. I later found out that the location descended from another army navy store that was open from sometime in the 1930s on that street intersection.
Galaxy Army Navy ran a few retail stores in Queens, Brooklyn and than two stores in Manhattan. One of which became the world headquarters for the company. My father also opened with his brother another store Mash Army & Navy in Manhattan but later separated from that. The last Manhattan store closed in 2025 when my father retired after over 43 years owning and running his army navy store.
Today we are an online-only company with over 10,000 unique items dedicated to the niche market of camouflage uniforms and tactical clothing and stuff you would find at a local army navy store.
Galaxy Army Navy is a family operated multi-generational business in its third generation while cherishing our roots and striving for the future.
Originally started as just an army navy store offering military surplus and work clothing, we now retail and wholesale selective products in the tactical clothing, camouflage uniforms, army navy, military gear, uniforms, law enforcement apparel, work and outdoor clothing, police, security, public safety, camping and outdoor fields.
Our markets span Army Navy and camouflage, military and tactical, law enforcement, police and security, public safety, and EMT, EMS and emergency medics, along with uniforms and workwear, camping and survival, and outdoor, hunting and firearms. We also serve preppers and survivalists, airsoft and paintball, government procurement, custom screen printing and embroidery, promotional and advertising, costumes and film props, and fashion and design.
